• L1: Digitization

In this module you will learn the difference between analog and digital and the basics of digital technology.

The world has changed rapidly over the last 40 years. In the digital AI world, complex information is processed at incredible speed by billions of globally networked small and large computers, such as smartphones, laptops or large servers in data centers. But what does “digital” actually mean? How are these computers structured and what is the internet? The digital transformation is based on the basic functions of the computer, which allow information to be captured, processed and transmitted on a historically unprecedented scale.

After this module you will be able to...

    • name and explain differences between digital and analog data.
    • represent numbers in the binary system.
    • describe the structure and functioning of computers.
    • describe the functioning of the internet.

We strongly recommend that you work through Module 01 on a computer in order to make the best use of the learning resources.
