Establishing the connection

In Module 3, you learned that AI systems can be developed in two ways: through machine learning and/or knowledge-based AI.

In Module 7, the focus was on artificial neural networks and deep learning. We saw that artificial neural networks and deep learning are a subfield of machine learning that includes techniques enabling machines to learn through deep neural networks.

In the previous module, we dealt with large language models (LLMs) and learned that LLMs represent a form of generative AI, as they are capable of independently generating text. We also discovered that the latest LLMs are based on the architecture of artificial neural networks.

In this chapter, we will now get to know other types of generative AI models. More specifically, we will explore generative AI models that can generate music and songs. In doing so, we will also discover that the most recent models for music and song generation are likewise based on the architecture of artificial neural networks.
